Student background / expectations

The course is aimed at graduate students and early-career researchers interested in applying accurate metabarcoding methods to questions about biodiversity and ecology. The course focuses on bioinformatic methods, so some prior experience with the linux command line is preferred, although pre-course online study materials will be available to all attendees to ensure a common starting point. An understanding of phylogenetics would be useful to get the most out of some sessions.
